BENDIGO Braves’ roster for the 2019 NBL1 season continues to take shape with the signing of returning player Matt Bartlett.
The dynamic guard, who played three seasons with the Braves’ SEABL team from 2011-13, rejoins the club after a successful stint with his hometown Shepparton Gators in the Big V competition.
Bartlett scored in double figures in 17 games last season for the Gators and will look to replicate that effort back in the blue and yellow.
The move back to the Braves reunites him with former team-mate and new coach David Hogan.
The pair was co-captains of the Braves’ D-League team in 2011 under coach Mick Spear.
Bartlett returns to the Braves with his reputation as a hard worker on both ends of the court enhanced.
The Braves begin their season on March 31 on the road against Melbourne Tigers. Their first home game is against the basketball Australia Centre of Excellence on Friday, April 5.
