COMMUNITY EVENTS
BENDIGO SHOW
Bendigo Agricutural Show will once again draw in crowds with plenty of family entertainment this weekend.
There will be showbags (ranging from classics to the new), animals (including nursery) and horse events, craft, floral and exhibit.
The day also features monster trucks, heart-stopping rides and the usual (and much loved) fireworks display.

BIKE PALOOZA
Bike Palooza is a month-long festival featuring more than 120 cycling-related events in and around Bendigo.
The days feature activities such as the Open Streets Festival, Learn to Ride Park, Bike International Film Festival and the Bendigo Cycling Classic.

PERFORMANCES
GUITAR COLLABORATION
The Guitar Collaboration is a group of performers and teachers – Anne Begg, Jenni Heinrich, Ashley Bird and Josh McGuffie – that are all local to the Bendigo area.
The ensemble allows for a variety of configurations including duo, trio or quartet and they have performed as each of these in the past three years.
The program of this performance includes seven duets and three quartets.
The Guitar Collaboration will perform in Kyneton tomorrow and at other locations in the next couple of weeks.

KYNETON MUSIC FESTIVAL
Eighteen bands will take to the stage over two days for this year’s festival.
The annual festival is now in its seventh year and will take over the iconic Piper Street.
Various bands such as Aussie rock icon Adalita will play, along with The Pink Tiles, A.Swayze & the Hosts and many more.
Food trucks are also set to be at the event, keeping hungry music lovers happy.

BANDS ON VIEW
Join the Bendigo and District Bands' Group for an afternoon of free live music.
A huge range of music will be performed, including brass band marches, hymns, swing, pop and more.
Doors will be open all day so you can come and go as you please.
Bands performing on the day include: Thompson's Foundry Band, Bendigo & District Concert Band, Bendigo Youth Brass and more.

ARCHITECTURE
OPEN HOUSE BENDIGO
Bendigo’s impressive architecture is set to open its doors for public viewing.
Open House Melbourne has partnered with the City of Greater Bendigo to extend to the region for the first Open House Bendigo experience.
The weekend event will see private homes, commercial and civic buildings of architectural significance open their doors for viewing.

OPEN GARDEN DISPLAYS
MICA GRANGE
Each spring Mica Grange hosts an open garden and sculpture exhibition.
This year the property, at Sutton Grange, will be open each weekend from Saturday, October 27 to Sunday November 25, including the Monday and Tuesday of the Melbourne Cup long weekend.
The beautiful gardens and vegetable patches, along with garden sculptures, will be on show.

THE IRIS PLACE
Do you like gardening? Or you’ve been wondering how to grow beautiful irises? Then head along to an iris display.
With over 10 irises that have been hybridised, registered and released, this display is unique and full of colour.
The display also features three new iris’s to share with the world.
Irises in pots are also available.
All welcome, including groups. Free entry.

EXHIBITIONS
GAZE AND GRAZE
The Friends of the Bendigo Gallery are running a Garden Gaze and Graze.
Tickets are $25 each (cash only) and are available at the gallery, with children free.
Join the Friends of the Bendigo Art Gallery Inc. for a fundraising event where you can wander amongst sculptures and a native hillside garden.
There will also be a country afternoon tea on a rooftop terrace.
The funds raised from the event will go towards the Friends Art Bursaries.

GROWING UP IN ECHUCA – WHAT KIDS DID FOR FUN
The exhibition “Growing Up in Echuca – What Kids Did for Fun” will open on October 28 and run until the end of February.
The opening day will be a fun fest for children, with free entry, treasure hunts, story time and games from 11am and a sausage sizzle from noon.
The focus of the exhibition is connecting today’s kids to the yesteryears of their parents and grandparents and engaging families with their history.

GOTHIC BEAUTY: VICTORIAN NOTIONS OF LOVE, LOSS AND SPIRITUALITY
Curated by Tansy Curtin and Jessica Bridgfoot (and as a Bendigo Art Gallery exclusive), this exhibition takes a look into early Victorian rituals of mourning, as early as the 1800’s.
The artists featured in the exhibition range from Jane Burton, Bill Henson and Janet Beckhouse just to name a few.
This exhibition draws on works from the gallery's historic collections, as well as loaned pieces and works from contemporary artists.

TRIANGULARISM
Robert Penno of Rob Penno Art currently has his work displayed at a local hotel, showcasing many years of his Euclidean Geometry (180 degrees in a triangle) work.
Whilst Penno works with all mediums and any topic, he specialises in triangularisms.
Most recently, Penno’s art has been accepted into the Convent Gallery in Daylesford.
