8.45am: On the go is a bit slow this morning, sorry. Computers - fantastic until you turn them on and start using them right!
8.48am: First thing's first - weather. Well, looking outside it appears pretty good but is that really the case? It appears these two have called a truce to cuddle up in the warmth of the kennel, so perhaps it's a bit chilly!
Well, let's turn to the experts. What does the weather man say...
It seems after a rather chilly week some true spring weather might be on the way.
It's going to be a beautiful 18 today - near on perfect for watching those footy and netball grand finals at the QEO.
Tomorrow 19 and then we get into some spring stuff... 21 on Monday and 23 on Tuesday.
Dare we finally pack away those winter woollies?
8.54am EMERGENCY SERVICES: We're happy to report our morning ring around of the local police and other emergency services reports it was a quiet night across the city. Pretty happy with that!
8.55am NEWS: A Junortoun man has told of a near miss as a 'moron' texting while driving around a corner looked up just in time. Can you believe the driver went right on texting even after the near miss. Bendigo police have rolled out four high-speed trail bikes to catch motorists doing this type of thing. On Friday they nabbed 20 drivers at $423 and four demerit points a pop. To read the story click here
8.57am NEWS: A Bendigo woman will transform the city's Allan's Walk into a hip place to be for one day only. Seems like a great idea. To learn more about this project click here
9am SPORT: Well, today is all about football and netball when it comes to sport with the QEO hosting the Bendigo Football Netball League grand finals. It's one of the biggest days on the Bendigo sporting calendar and a HUGE crowd is expected as has become tradition.
Bendigo Advertiser cartoonist Peter Broelman got to work to produce our now traditional cartoon front page dedicated to the grand finals. This year we've added the A Grade netball captains as well! We sincerely hope Blair Holmes (Sandhurst), Shannon Geary (Strathfieldsaye), Allira Holmes (Golden Square) and Alicia McGlashan (Kangaroo Flat) are happy with their likeness! It was a horror day for the Essendon Football Club on Friday with the club losing its court battle with ASADA, favourite son Paddy Ryder announcing he's leaving the club and players now left to ponder what the future will hold as the ASADA investigation continues.
9.20am HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We can't go any further without recognising a pretty special member of the Bendigo community. Dorothy Robertson turns 90! Mrs Robertson is the matriarch from which 15 children, 41 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren have come. To read her story click here

9.45am HEARTWARMING STORY ALERT: The Maher family of Bendigo have endured plenty in the past few years. David Maher was critically injured when his van collided head on with a semi-trailer near Tarnagulla in 2011. As the family worked through the trauma of the incident, Carolyn Maher turned to art as an outlet. Now she's having her first exhibition. We should also mention the family got some prominence not too long back when their much-loved pooch Charlie fell down a 15 metre mine shaft ... and survived!
