To start the game the Dodgers gave up two runs quickly in the top of the first against the determined Falcons.
The Dodgers then buckled down to quickly even up the game with two runs in the bottom of the first which set the scene for a tense and competitive baseball game with both sides more than eager to secure victory.
Top pitching from Jack Harrison in addition to tight defence by the Dodgers helped lock the Falcons offence down for the rest of the match.
This was highlighted by two catches by Julian Oxlade in the right field.
However, the Falcons' Baily Waterman and playing-coach Brad Munns pitched well to put the team within striking distance but the batting of Dodgers' Duncan Lever, Anthony Amsing and Craig Eeles scored runs at crucial moments which secured the win 5-2.
