The 25-year-old locked in an entry for the Wells Fargo Championship after a strong finish at the Monday qualifying event.
The Australian shot an impressive five-under 65 to secure one of four spots up for grabs at the PGA event to be played at Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina.
Herbert has played in multiple PGA Tour events this season, including the WGC Workday Championship at The Concession as well as receiving a sponsor's invite to the Honda Classic.
The Wells Fargo Championship will be his first competitive event in weeks, but the Neangar Park golfer has been busy on social media with several posts of him refining his skills on some top courses across the United States.
This week at Quail Hollow he will tee up in round one alongside Vincent Whaley (USA) and Akshay Bhatia (USA) at 11.02pm AEST on Thursday night.
The course in North Carolina has a rich history within golf and has hosted several big events in the past including the PGA Championship (2017) and is due to hold the President's Cup in 2022.
Australian Jason Day won the event in 2018 and will return this year alongside fellow countrymen Cameron Davis, Cameron Percy, Matt Jones and Herbert.
Herbert heads into the event ranked 94th in the world and 92nd on the Race to Dubai standings.
He has dropped a few spots in recent months as he hasn't been competing in as many events as usual as a fully sanctioned player on the European Tour.
