A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been released on bail after a police officer deployed a Taser on Thursday morning.

The officer - and a colleague who fired OC foam at the man - then overpowered and arrested him, Acting Sergeant Tim Elliott said.
Police were responding to reports of an incident in Long Gully when they deployed the Taser and OC foam.
The man was charged with an assault police related offence.
Acting Sergeant Elliott said the matter is expected go before the courts in the new year.
