Gannawarra Shire Council mayor Brian Gibson was honoured to have the wharf recognised at state, national and international level.
“The Koondrook Wharf was shortlisted in three categories of the 2018 Victorian Architecture Awards, and to win all three categories is remarkable,” mayor Gibson said.
Designed by architectural company TERROIR, the wharf was awarded the Regional Prize Architecture Award, Urban Design Architecture Award and Small Projects Architecture Award.
“These awards are recognition to architect TERROIR, and a great acknowledgment to council who managed the project and community members who worked on the design,” said Mayor Gibson.
“We are very excited the Koondrook Wharf will now progress to the National Architecture Awards to be announced in November.”
In conjunction to progressing to the National Awards, the architectural company and wharf have been nominated for the World Architecture Festival Awards to be announced in Amsterdam later this year.
“The Koondrook Wharf is receiving recognition on a state, national and international level and we hope this will attract new visitors to the view the wharf and greater Gannawarra Shire area,” said mayor Gibson.
