The wharf has been shortlisted for the 2018 World Architecture Festival Awards, held in Amsterdam in November.
Gannawarra Shire Council mayor Brian Gibson said the World Architecture Festival was the world’s largest architectural award program and received entries from all over the world.
“The World Architecture Festival is dedicated to celebrating, sharing and inspiring outstanding architecture,” mayor Gibson said.
“To be shortlisted on a world stage against projects based in Norway, China, Spain and India is remarkable.”
The wharf was designed by architectural company Terroir, who also submitted the nomination.
“Koondrook Wharf has been shortlisted in the Landscape – Rural Projects category and Terroir will travel to Amsterdam in November to present to a jury of more than 100 international judges,” mayor Gibson said.
“We are very proud of the Koondrook Wharf and we thank the community for embracing this project and assisting the design process.
“We look forward to welcoming the extra visitors this recognition will bring to Koondrook and our wider district.”
