EAGLEHAWK will be the first team to travel north to take on Bendigo premier division new-comers Moama on Saturday in what shapes as a cracking round two contest.
Both teams made emphatic opening round statements last Saturday against last season's two grand finalists.
The impressive Hawks jumped straight to the top of the ladder with a whitewash of reigning premier South Bendigo, winning 88-53.
And Moama in its Bendigo debut fired off an ominous warning with its 84-57 away win against last season's runners-up Kangaroo Flat.
"We're really looking forward to the challenge on Saturday," Eaglehawk skipper Dean Carter said on Friday.
"Moama upstaged Kangaroo Flat last week, so playing them up there on their home deck is going to be tough, but we'll be up for it and from what I've heard they will be just as keen.
"We know we'll have to be on our game right from the start."
The Hawks will take an unchanged line-up into Saturday's match of the round.
Having had a bye in the opening round last week, Inglewood will hit the green for the first time this season at home against Castlemaine.
The Woodies will face a Castlemaine side that will be riding a high following its comprehensive 27-shot mauling of Bendigo East at home last week.
Now the challenge for the Maine is to deliver away from home.
In other round two games, South Bendigo will be home to Golden Square.
After beating Bendigo by five shots in the only close game of round one Golden Square will be boosted by the inclusion of two skippers in Garri Conforti and recruit Lachie Bowland.
And Bendigo East and Kangaroo Flat will be both gunning for their first wins when they clash at Lansell Street.
