In July last year, that man was remanded in custody after he allegedly assaulted the woman and broke her hip.
On July 27, 2020, the mother of the new partner went to the 53-year-old man's home to collect her son's property.
The court heard the man became agitated and told the woman, "you're not f****** getting that" and "I'll get him, I'll go to jail for him".
The 53-year-old, who was on crutches at the time, also waved the object at the woman and told her, "I'll get you, you old sl**".
The man's son came to the door and threatened the woman, telling her, "I will burn your house down, I'll petrol bomb your home".
The man agreed, telling the woman, "we'll both do time over your son, you sl**".

The victim was terrified and fled the property. The court heard her son's house was set alight on July 30. The 53-year-old man's son has been charged in relation to that incident.
The 53-year-old was arrested on July 31 and interviewed. He denied making the threats but told police he had been very angry.
Defence lawyer Madeleine Mein told the court last year had been a particularly difficult time for the man and he was remorseful for his actions.
Ms Mein said her client had been in no further trouble and was willing to complete unpaid community work as a punishment.
Magistrate Stella Stuthridge convicted and sentenced the man to a 12-month community corrections order with 25 hours of community work.
