A MAN charged over the death of a vision-impaired pedestrian at Wedderburn has formally pleaded guilty.

Billy-Jo Salter, 23, fronted the County Court on Tuesday where he entered pleas to charges of dangerous driving causing death and destruction of evidence.
Salter was charged after vision-impaired pedestrian Ray Meadows was struck and killed in Wedderburn on June 2, 2019.

Mr Meadows had been walking with his guide dog Gerry along the Calder Highway, near the intersection of Wedderburn Junction Road, when he was hit.
Salter initially entered pleas of not guilty after a Bendigo committal hearing in May.
The 23-year-old was granted bail on Tuesday. He is due to return to the County Court in November for a plea hearing.
