After singing in her home town since she was eight-years-old, Ms Walker, 23, has made the decision to try her luck on the show after considering it for many years.
"I've been thinking about it for a while now and after the year we had last year, I just thought it was time to give it a go," she said.
Ms Walker said her family had seen her talent from a young age.
"My mum said I could always sing and I loved theatre, so she encouraged me to join the Echuca Theatre Company and a few other companies in town," she said.

Heading to Melbourne with her parents Michelle and John and partner Dale, Ms Walker said it was an "overwhelming but amazing experience".
"You walk out these big doors straight out onto the stage, and I just pretended no-one was there," she said.
"I think I looked up once, but when I started playing, I pretended there was no-one sitting on those red chairs.
"Once I finished, then I looked up and embraced everything."
While she couldn't reveal how far she got after filming began in February, Ms Walker was blessed to be able to perform one of her favourite songs for judges Rita Ora, Guy Sebatian, Keith Urban and Jessica Mauboy.
"I chose to perform Down Under by Men at Work because it's something a love to play often," she said.
"I love singing those types of songs because when it hits the piano, for me they sound different; taken back and stripped back."
When asked who her musical influences were, Ms Walker said she couldn't pick just one.
"It's so hard to say because there are so many amazing artists out there," she said.
"I think every female Australian artist has their own sound and I love listening to their stuff and being completely inspired."
Ms Walker said regardless of how far she got on the show, she enjoyed meeting other like-minded people along the way.
"You're sitting in the green room and you're next to a girl who has just been in a musical that's played in Melbourne and then you're sitting next to someone who's just come back from touring with a band in the US. They all tell you their experiences.
"I met a great bunch of artists and we're now in group chats and we network and communicate and share each other's music."
The Voice premieres on August 8 at 7pm on Channel 7.
