Bendigo Highway Patrol Leading Senior Constable Scott Andrews confirmed three drivers have been taken to Bendigo hospital following a three-vehicle crash in California Gully.
Leading Senior Constable Andrews said the crash was caused by a vehicle failing to give way while crossing the intersection of Nelson Street and Sandhurst Road.
"The collision involved three cars, one blue car travelling on Sandhurst Road from Bendigo to Eaglehawk, another red car was sitting on Nelson Street with a stop sign relevant, another white car was waiting at another stop sign to turn right," he said.
"The red car from Nelson Street proceeded through the intersection and was hit by the car coming from Bendigo to Eaglehawk.
"The blue car has hit the red car and it has been catapulted into the stationary white car."
Leading Senior Constable Andrews said the driver at fault would be issued a penalty notice.
He said the intersection was a difficult one to cross and reminded drivers to drive patiently.
