The TAC's fourth annual Split Second Film Competition is calling on aspiring filmmakers to produce a 45-second film concept and have it shown on the silver screen with the winning entry to receive a $70,000 production budget to create their film as well as $5000 in prize money.
The competition is open to 18 to 25-year-olds with entries to address low-level speeding or drink driving - which remain significant causes of injuries and deaths on our roads.

"Every day we see young people showing their creativeness and their ability to share important messages in new and innovative ways," roads and road safety minister Ben Carroll said.
"We're hoping to tap into that creativity to empower young people to connect with their peers and send a powerful road safety message that save lives."
The winning film will be shown before movies at Village Cinemas across the state from October 21 to January 21, 2022.
Now in its fourth year, the Split Second Film Competition targets youth and has received close to 500 entries in its previous years.
"In a fast-paced world we know that we have to find new ways to connect with the public and that's especially true for young Victorian road users," Transport Accident Commission chief executive Joe Calafiore said.
"This competition has proven to be a fantastic avenue to connect directly with those young people and encourage them to think about their behaviour on the road."
TAC has created the prizes in partnership with Village Cinemas and production company Sweet Shop who will help bring the film concept to life.
Entries close on August 9. For more details visit www.tac.vic.gov.au/road-safety/split-second
