Given the four consecutive days of zero cases detected across the state, Mr Foley said there had been positive signs for restrictions to be eased.

"We have always wanted a degree of certainty for the school holidays," he said.

Mr Foley said about 2400 under 40 year olds had taken the opportunity to be vaccinated with AstraZeneca over the past week.

It comes as the Minister for Health said the Pfizer vaccine was set to have a reduction in the number of weekly doses by about 20 per cent from 100,000 doses to 80,000 as supply constraints were felt.

Earlier: Victoria has recorded its fourth consecutive day of zero coronavirus cases overnight and one case in hotel quarantine.

The number of active cases across the state remains at 30, two cases became inactive on Saturday.

In the past 24 hours; 19,623 vaccine doses were administered across the state and 24,247 COVID-19 test results were received.
