Real estate agents will once again revert to online auctions and virtual inspections following the announcement of Victoria's snap seven-day lockdown.

Under the revised stage three covid regulations, agents are unable to present homes for in-person inspections and auctions can only be conducted online.
Real Estate Institute of Victoria Bendigo region president Matt Bowles said while the restrictions were regretful, central Victorians had proven their resilience and ability to cope in times of adversity.

He said while nobody would be surprised at the lockdown's announcement, it was important to remember the property industry was well used to changes and had adapted accordingly.
"Inquiry actually rises in these instances as people at home tend to spend more time looking in the paper and browsing online," Mr Bowles said.

"Across the industry, our vendors and equally, our prospective buyers are well aware of the rules that we all need to abide by.
"And rest assured, we are all still taking inquiries."
