Bendigo was one of the wettest places in the state on Tuesday afternoon, with the city recording 18 millimetres of rain as a cold front crossed Victoria.

The city's 3pm total was only surpassed by Mount William in the Grampians, where 22.8mm was the total.
The falls at Bendigo took the city's total for May past 50mm and closer to the average of recent years.

In 2016, when Lake Eppalock last spilled, there was 83mm of rain recorded at Bendigo during May. The following year the total was just 27mm.
At Redesdale, there was almost 15mm recorded by 3.30pm on Tuesday, taking the monthly total to 47mm.
As at Bendigo, the highest monthly total for May at Redesdale in recent years was in 2016 when 72.6mm was recorded.
Autumn 2021 has been a mixed bag for central Victoria, with a very wet March followed by a much drier than average April.
Coliban Water's storages are 72 per cent full.
