The patient had just been trampled by a horse in a remote Bendigo location while they were riding with a friend.
When the incident occurred, they had no idea of their exact location.
Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority call operator Sean Crank said the situation was complex but with the help of the AML technology, the location of the patient was found quickly.
"They knew of some roads close to them but certainly had no idea as to the kilometers of where they were," he said.
"We were able to use the AML data that was presented within a 24-metre radius and used that to accurately grab where they."
Mr Crank said the air ambulance had bet crews on the road thanks to the accurate data presented.
AML technology automatically allows Android and Apple devices to send a triple zero caller's location to Telstra 000, and then on to ESTA.
I cannot express the level of excitement in the call taking community that we have this, it is absolutely sensational.

Because AML uses GPS, wifi or mobile phone tower location information to obtain the location, in most cases it will provide a far more accurate location than the current method of locating callers.
It is of particular benefit when an emergency caller is unable to state their location because of injury or other reasons.
Mr Crank said it was a relief to see the introduction of AML technology.
He said this particular incident could of been harder if the technology wasn't available.
"I cannot express the level of excitement in the call taking community that we have this, it is absolutely sensational," he said.
"We have been operating without AML for a very long time and we have gotten really good at finding people without that data but it just takes longer to do that.
Other news:
"There is much more questioning involved and more time to find exactly where they are without the AML data."
Currently AML technology only works for 50 per cent of all mobile calls received.
In some instances it may not be available due to system upgrades and services.
"It isn't present on every call, it's about 50 per cent, there are lots of scenarios where it doesn't present and it's important for people to do everything possible to know where they are," Mr Crank said.
"It's an immensely powerful tool and we are very excited about it."
