Lockwood South residents will soon be able to receive mail to their homes, after the results of an Australia Post survey.
Australia Post told residents this week that it would begin to deliver mail mid-year.
More than 220 residents voted for Australia Post to begin mail deliveries in the recent poll, about 60 per cent of Lockwood South's population.
Resident Anne Upton has campaigned for the change, building on the work of a petition from another resident begun in 2017.
She went to every effort to bring in the change, including with a neighbour letterbox dropping a "Vote Yes" leaflet to every house in the suburb.
Ms Upton said she was grateful for the community effort to get mail deliveries brought in.
She said it was a huge moment for the community to begin receiving mail.
Other news:
"People in Lockwood South feel that it's really quite an active community, a lot of people live there," Ms Upton said.
"It's fair that we get the same services that other people get."
An Australia Post spokesperson said Lockwood South residents would soon receive a letter telling when services would begin and what they needed to do to prepare.
