COHUNA speedster Kye Mason broke a long-held 200m record for the Athletics Bendigo Region at last week's Australian University Games in Sydney.

Racing for La Trobe University, Mason ran a superb time of 21.89 seconds as he won bronze in the open 200m final at the Olympic Park track.
The 18-year-old broke the Bendigo residential record of 21.97, which was set by Bendigo Harriers' star Craig Elliott, on December 9, 1984 in Brisbane.
Elliott held the 200m record for open, under-20, 18 and 17 residential records for Bendigo until Mason's great run at the Uni Games.
Bronze at the Games capped a great campaign for Mason and Eaglehawk Athletics club-mate Kenan Seebah.
The first-year psychology students at La Trobe University Bendigo competed at the Uni Games for the first time.
In the 200m heats at the Games, Mason ran 22.23 to be second.
Seebah's time of 23.85 was seventh fastest in his heat.
Both also competed in the 400m.
Mason clocked 50.22 to be fourth in his heat, and Seebah was fifth in his heat in 52.16 seconds.
The campaign for Seebah was scheduled to include the 100m, but he did not start.
Australia's University Games capped a big track and field season for Mason and Seebah.
The Terry Hicks-coached athletes competed at Athletics Victoria's open track and field championships at Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne's Albert Park precinct, and the Victoria Country titles in Ballarat.
Both played key roles in Eaglehawk being the number one club in division two at the end of nine rounds of Athletics Victoria Shield League.
The Hawks have earned promotion to Premier League for the 2021-22 AVSL track and field action.
Mason and Seebah also featured prominently in Bendigo's rankings for this season's AVSL.
Mason was number one in the 100m, 11.06; 200m, 22.64; and second in 400m, 50.60.
He also competed in discus, javelin and shot put at various rounds for the Two Blues.
Best times for Seebah were 11.75 in the 100m, 7th; 23.93 in 200m, 8th; and 51.55 in the 400m, 6th.
For both there will be plenty of training across winter as they build-up to go faster or throw further next season and beyond.
