"From what we're hearing, Bendigo is a sports crazy town where people love to hear stories about athletes. La Trobe University said it was an area that loves to have these types of events and, if the support is there, we're open to bringing more events (to Bendigo)."
La Trobe's regional sponsorship adviser Melinda Keighran said the university was thrilled at the chance to host Ablett.
"With COVID-restrictions, we will be limited in the number people that can attend," she said. "But it is still a great opportunity to hear from Gary and hear some of his stories."
"I think people will want to know what's next for Gary Ablett and no doubt people will want to hear stories of him and Joel Selwood."
