Festivities to mark the opening of the Kangaroo Flat Library have again been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Goldfields Libraries cited ongoing restrictions and uncertainties in its decision to postpone the celebrations, which were planned to take place this morning.
"We know many of you were excited, and so were we, but safety must come first," the organisation said in a social media statement.
"We hope to be able to reschedule very soon."
February 12
Festivities are planned to mark the opening of the Kangaroo Flat Library.
The COVID-19 pandemic meant the library was unable to celebrate with the community when it opened its doors in June.
Tours, face painting, live music, a special story time and craft activities are among the festivities planned for February 20.
The fun starts from 9.30am, with official proceedings scheduled from 11am. The event ends at 12:30pm.

The new library is in the former Senior Citizens Centre on Lockwood Road.
An artwork was commissioned as part of the building's $1.38-million redevelopment.
The artwork honours and celebrates First Nations communities and the history of the area.
Dja Dja Wurrung artist Daikota Nelson's artwork is in pride of place at the library's front counter.
It will be officially unveiled as part of the library's opening celebrations.
Goldfields Libraries engagement manager Lucy Mayes said libraries were modern keepers and sharers of knowledge, information and stories.
"We would like to reflect and respect the Dja Dja Wurrung community, the original and continuing knowledge holders, wisdom keepers and storytellers of these lands," Ms Mayes said.
Other features of the new library include free public computers, free Wi-Fi, a children's area and lounge spaces.
Work on an atrium is ongoing.
The new library is almost 50 per cent bigger than its predecessor on High Street.
Funding for the new library came from the City of Greater Bendigo, the Goldfields Library Corporation, and a grant from the state government's Living Libraries Infrastructure Program.
Kangaroo Flat library manager Kinta Walker said the staff were very excited about the new library.
"Having an official celebration with the community, at last, will really make it feel like home for everyone," Ms Walker said.
