A ROCKBANK man has been charged and will face court after allegedly stealing a motorbike from a caravan park at Torrumbarry, near, Echuca, in June.
Detectives from the Campaspe Crime Investigation Unit and the Melton Crime Investigation Unit arrested the 38-year-old man following an investigation into the theft.
Police allege a seven-year-old boy's motorcycle was stolen from the caravan park just hours after his dad was injured in a motorcycle accident and airlifted to hospital.
The family was forced to quickly store their motorcycles at the site when the accident happened.
When the family followed their injured family member to hospital, they returned the next day to find the seven-year-old's motorcycle had been stolen.
Following investigations, police searched a property in Rockbank on October 7 and found the boy's Yamaha motorcycle along with another stolen motorcycle.
The 38-year-old Rockbank man who has been charged will face Sunshine Magistrates court at a later date.
