A MAN remains in a serious condition in a Melbourne hospital after a crash in Bendigo which killed a 16-year-old.
The 18-year-old Bendigo West man was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital from Bendigo hospital on Monday, in a critical condition suffering head injuries.
Police said bystander action may have saved a life after the McCrae Street crash in the early hours of Monday morning.
An 18-year-old Strathfieldsaye man police believe was driving the car was taken to Bendigo Health in a stable condition after the crash.
A 16-year-old Goornong boy died at the scene.
Police at the scene called for any witnesses or early responders to contact them to help with enquiries.
