There was a strong wind blowing towards the tee when Michael Arnott stepped up to take his shot on Neangar Park's par three 12th on Sunday.

The pin was tucked behind the bunker on the right of the green so the six handicapper was left with no decision put to simply go for it.
"There was a bit of a breeze so I decided to take the extra club," Arnott said.
Six iron in hand, he let it rip.
"I took dead aim right at the pin. I saw the ball land up on the green, it bounced then disappeared out of sight," he said.
"At this stage I thought I had given it too much stick and assumed it had rolled down off the back of the green."
One of Arnott's playing partners, Mal Barnes, quickly hopped into his cart and set out for the green.
"Mal got up there and shouted back to us that he couldn't see it on the green, he then got out on foot and walked towards the pin and within seconds he was jumping up and down yelling that it was in the hole."
Upon closer inspection, Arnott could see his ball's pitch mark about 3 feet from the hole.
"It probably took one little hop and went straight in," he laughed.
"I had come close so many times in the past I honestly thought I would never score one."
Arnott, 39, has been playing golf for many years, first taking up the game when he moved to Swan Hill for work where he was a member at Murray Downs Golf and Country Club.
"I was always looking for something to do with my time so I bought myself a set of clubs, started playing with a handicap of 28 and ever since I've been slowly getting it lower and lower," he said.
He then moved to Wangaratta where he joined up at Jubilee Golf Club, where he was able to get his handicap down to single digits.
"I've definitely still got a few more years left in me," he laughed.
"I want to continue chipping away at my handicap and get it as low as I can."
Arnott's ace was the second within a week in the district, with Bendigo member Anne Griffiths also scoring her first.
