Police are searching for potential witnesses to an act of vandalism in Bendigo that saw a Christmas decoration significantly damaged.
Between 12.10am and 12.35am on Sunday, a group of about four to five people tore one of the four 'Little Drummer Boy' statues standing in the Rosalind Park piazza from its stand, leaving its feet behind.
The statue was then thrown into Bendigo Creek.
Police officers have spoken to a couple of people believed to be part of the group and there is CCTV footage, but it is hoped anyone who might have seen the incident will be able to provide further information.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Bendigo police station on 5448 1300.
