
A date has been set for the trial of the two people accused of causing the death of an Echuca toddler.
Tania Maree Walker and her partner Daniel John Simmons last week pleaded not guilty to child homicide in relation to the death of Ms Walker's 23-month-old daughter Angela Bannister on July 19, 2008.
A hearing in the Supreme Court this week saw a trial scheduled to begin in Bendigo next August.
Another directions hearing will take place in March.
Angela died at Echuca Regional Hospital 11 years ago.
A forensic pathologist attributed chest injuries from blunt force as a cause of death, the little girl having experienced internal bleeding.
Magistrate Marc Sargent committed Ms Walker and Mr Simmons to stand trial for child homicide following a two-day hearing in Bendigo last week.
