V/LINE services on the Bendigo line are back to normal after a series of disruptions on Saturday afternoon.
A V/Line spokesperson said a track maintenance vehicle became disabled on the track near Castlemaine.
As a result, coaches replaced trains between Castlemaine and Bendigo.
Trains continued to operate between Southern Cross Station and Castlemaine.
The issue was rectified about 6pm on Saturday.
"We apologise to passengers on the Bendigo line for the disruption to their service," the spokesperson said.
Update, 5.45pm
ANOTHER Bendigo V/Line service has been diverted due to an obstruction on the track near Castlemaine.
V/Line advised the 6.35pm Southern Cross to Swan Hill service will start at Bendigo.
Customers are being told to board the 6.02pm Southern Cross to Bendigo service to connect with the Swan Hill service.
Customers could alternatively board replacement road coaches at Southern Cross.
V/Line has been contacted for comment.

BENDIGO V/Line services have been disrupted on Saturday afternoon because of an obstruction on the track near Castlemaine.
The 1.14pm Swan Hill to Southern Cross service terminated early at Bendigo.
The 2.22pm Southern Cross to Epsom service and the 3.22pm Southern Cross to Bendigo service both terminated in Castlemaine.
The 4.25pm Bendigo to Southern Cross service departed from Castlemaine instead of Bendigo.
V/Line has advised customers to see station staff for alternative transport.
It comes as the latest V/Line performance data showed roughly 87 per cent of V/Line services were on time last month - almost five per cent lower than the punctuality target.
