THREE men have been charged after an alleged assault at Malmsbury Youth Justice Centre on Thursday night.

Police have been told two male staff members were allegedly assaulted by youths at the Youth Justice Centre at about 7.30pm.

The staff members received cuts and bruising and were taken to hospital.
A Community and Public Sector Union spokesperson said a cricket bat was believed to have been involved in the alleged assault.
Two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old were charged with intentionally cause injury, reckless cause injury, affray, and assault of an emergency worker.
They have been remanded to appear in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Friday.
