James Brown, 35, had applied for bail in the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Wednesday after he was charged with offences that included burglary, thefts of motor vehicles, and unlawful damage.
There had been an issue with determining an address at which Mr Brown could reside while on bail.
Magistrate Sarah Leighfield said a suitable address had been found and she granted him bail until his next court appearance.
The court on Wednesday heard a man was doing maintenance work on his Bagshot property on April 21, when he got out of his Toyota LandCruiser and left it running at the front gate.
At that time, police alleged, a vehicle pulled up and Mr Brown got out of the passenger seat, entered the LandCruiser and drove off towards Bendigo.
It was alleged Mr Brown was wearing a black hooded jumper and a balaclava at the time.
The following morning Mr Brown and an unidentified male allegedly attended a rail manufacturing and maintenance business in Murphy Street.
Mr Brown was accused of ramming the gates to the building and a roller door, causing serious damage.
He then allegedly entered a building on the premises, kicking a door. It was alleged he then drove to another building on the premises and used a gas cylinder to gain entry.
In total, $100 in cash and 10 vehicle keys were stolen.
"It is not a weak prosecution case but that's not the only matter I need to look at," Magistrate Leighfield said on Friday.
"I do have some concerns in terms of risk but they can be reduced with strict bail conditions."
Mr Brown has been ordered to report daily to the Bendigo Police Station as part of his bail conditions. He also has a strict curfew at his Long Gully residence and is not allowed to drive a motor vehicle.
Mr Brown will appear before the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on May 30 for a further mention.
