The four-year-old mare has been a model of consistency for Tormey without breaking through for a win in her past eight starts, dating back to August.
But the shackles were well and truly released at Cobram on Monday, with the daughter of Bacardi Lindy notching an impressive win in the Jim Canny Memorial Trot (2170m), with Tormey in the sulky, to put a string of luckless performances behind her.
"She got knocked over last start and she was having her first stand-start for a while, and she galloped the start before, but made up massive ground," she told Trots Vision.
"When she did everything right today I was pretty confident.
It was the fourth win from 24 starts for Mar Pacifico, who also has 10 placings to her name.
That record and a string of handy performances in some of last season's big three-year-old races, including the Breeders Crown Series and Group 1 Need For Speed Princess Final, offer plenty encouragement for Tormey the mare can quickly follow up her Cobram success.
"She has always been thereabouts, probably just a tad below the better ones," she said.
"But she was always running placings in the nice three-year-old races last season, so it's good to finally get a win out of here."
