Mitiamo defeated the Eagles in emphatic style by six goals last September before losing the grand final to Newbridge.
Saturday's clash at Marist College brings together two sides expected to challenge for the flag.
"We have six or seven new players this year and they have about the same, so the preliminary final really means nothing,'' Mitrovic said.
"They were better than us on the day. We haven't spoken about it this week. We just want to make a good start to this year."
The Eagles' hopes of making a winning start have been hampered by the unavailability of star siblings Nick and Matt Waterson.
Ruckman Clinton Angove and Jake Klemm are unlikely starters as well because of injuries.
"It leaves a bit of a whole, but we'll play a couple of kids who have come through our under-18s,'' Mitrovic said.
"We'll still field a more than competitive side."

The Superoos have added some serious talent to their squad headed by Tyrone Downie and Dougie Thomas.
"They have a star-studded team, but you can't try to stop them all, you have to win the footy yourself,'' Mitrovic said.
"We want to be positive and back ourselves to play well. We won't disregard the opposition at all, but we need to focus on how we want to play."
Despite doubts being presented by the LVFNL about the state of the Marist College surface through the week, Saturday's game will be played at the school.
Newbridge starts its premiership defence with a road trip to Calivil.
The game will be highlighted by the LVFNL debuts of former BFNL stars Jake Hall (Calivil United) and Cam Rinaldi (Newbridge).
Inglewood will fancy its chances of causing a round one upset when it hosts Marong.
The Blues were widely-tipped to collect another wooden spoon in 2019, but confidence is high out Inglewood way that they're well-placed to be more than competitive against the Panthers.
Marong is an unknown quantity after a host of changes in the off-season.
In the final game of round one, Pyramid Hill hosts Bridgewater.
Golden Square premiership player Adrian McErvale will coach the Bulldogs for the first time. Bridgewater will field a young side after the departure of several experienced players in the past couple of years.
