LVFNL - ROUND ONE
MAIDEN GULLY YCW v MITIAMO
2.15pm, Saturday at Marist College
This game brings together the two clubs that many expect to battle it out for the flag in September.
Maiden Gully YCW was the surprise packet last year, but this season the Eagles will have a target on their backs.
The Superoos' quality list of recruits is headed by classy forward Tyrone Downie, who could tear the league apart.
Both clubs will be keen to land a psychological blow in round one.
Last time: 2018 preliminary final - Mitiamo 16.20 (116) d Maiden Gully YCW 12.8 (80).
Head-to-head since 1995: Maiden Gully YCW 24, Mitiamo 34.

Head-to-head since 1995: Calivil United 37, Newbridge 18.
The new-look Demons host last year's premiers in one of the more intriguing games of round one.
With Andrew Freemantle back in charge, Calivil United has attracted some talented recruits, including former Strathfieldsaye star Jake Hall.
The Maroons have lost a couple of key cogs in their premiership wheel in Tommy Horne and Nathan Bacon, but they still deserve to start warm favourite.

Adrian McErvale takes the reins of Pyramid Hill for the first time and the pre-season vibe out of the Bulldogs has been positive.
The Dogs are confident they have a stronger squad than 2018. If they're going to challenge for a top three berth then this is a game where they should collect the four points.

Inglewood's wins have been few and far between in recent seasons, but the Blues would see the round one clash with Marong as one of its best chances of the year to grab the four points.
Both sides have a host of new faces, so this game will give us a better guide as to how much each club could improve in 2019.

HDFNL
White Hills v LBU
6pm, Saturday at White Hills
Last time: LBU 12.14 (86) d White Hills 3.6 (24)
Head-to-head: White Hills 15, LBU 24.
The most anticipated HDFNL season-opener for some time, with former Carlton duo Sam Kerridge and Jed Lamb to make their debut for White Hills in the club's first night game.
The Demons are coming from a long way back, but the arrival of Kerridge and Lamb plus a host of former BFNL players has many at the expecating a top-three finish.
LBU is a great test for the Demons first-up. The Cats are on the rise under coach Kahl Oliver and they have a great mix of experience and youth. Should be a cracker.
