EXHIBITIONS
PURSUITS OF PASSION AND PRINCIPLE
Buda Castlemaine will host an exhibition of Australian arts and crafts jewellery and decorative art that will complement the existing collection in the house and garden, which belongs to the Leviny family.
The arts and crafts movement, begun by William Morris in the 1800s, influenced the Leviny daughters who lived at Buda.
Their passion to decorate the home with items both useful and beautiful, is still a feature of the house interior today.
Special admission prices until Sunday, April 7, giving Castlemaine State Festival goers an extra week to view the exhibition.

TUDORS TO WINDSOR
More than 150 British portraits of royalty are on display at the Bendigo Art Gallery.
The new major exhibition - Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits - features works on loan from London's National Portrait Gallery with some never having been seen outside of the United Kingdom.
Tudors to Windsors highlights major events in British and world history from the 16th century to present day.
The portraits will allow the gallery visitors to study the royal family faces of the Tudors, the Stuarts, the Georgians, the Victorians and the Windsors.

GOLDEN TEXTURES
Central Goldfields Art Gallery has selected 18 contemporary art quilters from across Australia for its Biennial Art Quilt Exhibition.
Curated by international award-winning textile artist and local resident Jenny Bacon, the exhibition has an prize of $3000 on offer.
The prize-winning quilt will become part of the gallery's permanent collection.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
WALK UP
Raising money for more than eight years, Peter Sheahan's Walk Ups support the local community.
This weekend, all door proceeds will go towards the Bendigo Health Intensive Care Unit.
The event features different types of music, such as country, rock, old time and more, poetry and yarns.
There will also be special performances from artists such as Floreena Forbes, Ken Bice, Rod Briant, Bruce Fenton, Fred Goodwin and many more.
The event also features lucky door prizes and an afternoon tea.
Walk-up artists welcome.

WELCOME NIGHT
Are you new to the area or maybe recently retired? Were you thinking of joining a club? Then the Echuca Moama Welcome Night is for you.
The free event will feature 40 local organisations from sporting to crafts and a range of council services available to chat and provide information to attendees.
There will also be a free barbecue and live music.
No bookings needed.

TOE TAPPING DANCE
Hosted by the Spring Gully Hall Committee, this dance is one not to be missed.
The event features music by McNees Dance Band, a good program and delicious home-cooked supper.
There will also be a raffle and prizes.
Admission is $9 and all are welcome.

CROQUET CLUB
The Golden Square Croquet Club is a small club looking for new members to join in with the sport.
Croquet is a social game with a heavy mallet and balls. It can be competitive but fun and is a good way for older people to keep active.
The first six lessons are free to attend, with the group meeting Monday's and Friday's.
Please wear flat-soled shoes.

ST FRANCIS OF THE FIELDS SCHOOL FETE
Bring the family together for a great day out to raise money for children.
The day will include lots of activities for young and old, such as train rides, swinging chairs, photobooth, Mister Mike the Magician, showbags, Devonshire tea and more.
Wristbands can be bought from the school prior to the event or on the day.

MESSY PLAY DAY
It's on again, another messy play day for children to be involved in.
The day will feature magic mud, ice fingers, slime, painting and more.

FESTIVALS AND FAIRS
PRIDE FESTIVAL
The Bendigo PRIDE Festival is a month-long community event that celebrates and promotes diversity with particular focus on LGBTIQA+ communities and people.
Organised by the Bendigo Queer Film Festival, with the support of Thorne Harbour Country, headspace Bendigo and MILK Queer Party, the festival presents a program that includes a variety of events.
These events include family days, dance parties, comedy nights, picnic in the park, football matches and more.

LYONVILLE HARVEST FESTIVAL AND PICNIC
The little village of Lyonville is located only 10 minutes away from Trentham and is celebrating their Harvest Festival.
The autumn festival showcases home grown and home made produce of the region.
The event features the gardens and gardeners of the town, produce, flowers and preserves.
There will also be scarecrows and a scarecrow workshop, along with a competition for best scarecrows.
Attendees are invited to bring along their spare produce to sell, such as with seedlings and flowers.
Where: In Lyonville town.

BENDIGO RECORD FAIR
With more than 25 tables of vinyl and merchandise, this annual fair is set to be a big one.
The event features music and music-related merchandise, a few tables of comics with back issues added in.
Take home a special find at this event. $5 entry from 10am with $10 early bird entry from 9am.

CASTLEMAINE STATE FESTIVAL
The Castlemaine State Festival showcases works from the region's artists and performing arts companies, alongside national and international artists.
The biennial 10-day multi-arts event celebrates the culture of the central Victorian goldfields region.

CASTLEMAINE FRINGE FESTIVAL
With a program of local talent, this festival is a celebration of the more adventurous side of life.
Held over 17 days, there will be various artists and performers, plays, music and more.
The festival started about 30 years ago with visual art and in keeping with tradition there will be numerous exhibitions of paintings, collage, jewellery and sculptures.
The festival concludes with a huge garden party in the Castlemaine Botanical Gardens.
