Homes in Eaglehawk and Maiden Gully are again without power, as outages hit 272 customers.
Some customers are expected to have power back by 10pm, while others will have to wait until 3.30am.
7.31:
Power has been restored to most homes in Bendigo and surrounds. Some customers in Long Gully may still be experiencing the outage, their power is expected to be restored by 10pm.
Earlier:
Power is out for thousands of people at various locations throughout Bendigo and surrounds.
Golden Square, Long Gully, West Bendigo, Ironbark, White Hills and North Bendigo have all been affected by the outage.
Power is expected to be restored by 11pm for most customers. The cause of the outages is being investigated.
Some homes in Eaglwhawk, Sailors Gully, California Gully, Myers Flat, Woodvale, Eaglehawk North and Campbells Forest are also affected.

Further out Bridgewater, Leichardt, Derby, Bridgewater on Loddon, Ingelwood, Rheola, Kingower, Kurting, Glenalbyn, Brenanah, Goornong, Fosterville, Muskerry, Marong, Wilsons Hill and Shelborne are all experiencing power outages.
The Australian Energy Market Operator earlier directed Powercor to begin load shedding to reduce the risk of widespread and prolonged blackouts. Castlemaine and Muckleford were among the areas affected by these outages.
The AEMO said on Thursday it had the emergency resources available to continue to supply power during the heatwave.
