The AEMO has stated that central Victoria’s energy supply will remain secure during Friday’s peak usage period between 4pm and 7pm.
The AEMO earlier issued a notice that there was a lack of reserve power sparking fears that there could be blackouts.
Hot weather throughout Victoria has put pressure on power supplies, particularly during peak periods of demand.
Bendigo is expected to hit a high of 45 degrees tomorrow.
The overnight low on Thursday night may be as warm as 28 degrees, more than twice the mean minimum.
To minimise power use consumers can:
- Lower their blinds before leaving for work
- Run the dishwasher earlier or later than the peak demand period of 4-7pm
- Adjusting the settings of your airconditioner to sit between 20 and 24 degrees
- Temporarily turn off your pool pump, if you have a pool
