Fire danger is forecast to be extreme in the northern country, covering Greater Bendigo, Loddon and Campaspe.
Temperatures are expected to hit 45 degrees on Friday, accompanied by light winds.

The declaration means no fires can be lit from 12.01am to 11.59pm on the day.
Severe fire danger is forecast on Friday for the north central district, covering the Central Goldfields and Mount Alexander.
Friday’s extreme weather follows a hotter than average January. Temperatures have soared above 40 degrees for six days to date.
Thursday is forecast to hit a maximum of 41 degrees.
The Department of Health has issued a heat health alert for both Thursday and Friday across the northern country and the north central district.
Those at risk of heat related illness should drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun, rest, stay in cool places as much as possible and never leave pets, children or people locked in cars.
