Hickman commenced round four of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series at Mount Gambier’s Borderline Speedway in fine form.
He started heat one from position one and finished first, followed by heat two where he started from twelfth position and finished sixth.
For the main race he started in seventh position and climbed his way through the grid up to second position following a multi-car crash which left carnage on the track, before ultimately crashing out of the race himself.
“There was a crash that we tried to avoid…one of the tyres hit my front wing and caused damage,” Hickman said.
“We restarted the race with a busted front wing and because of the damage I spun out after a couple of laps and was T-boned by the other cars which put me out of the race.”
Hickman suffered a minor injury to his arm, but was fortunate to avoid any fractures that could’ve possibly hindered his performance in the lead-up to the start of the World Series Sprintcars.
“I had a little bit of an injury to the top of my arm, nothing major and I will be right for the World Series,” Hickman said.
“My plan is to brush it off and keep on racing.”
