Two of Ms Jackman’s creations were sported by women who were named runner-up and winner in the millinery competition.

Ms Jackman said she was happy to see two Bendigo women – who bought their outfits locally – take out the event.
But it was not an easy field to win.
“This is the best competition I’ve ever seen at the Bendigo Cup,” Ms Jackman said.
Jessie Beazley won the competition with an Angie Jackman sunhat, in what was only her second time entering Fashions on the Field.
She was also named runner-up in the Local Lady of the Day category.
“I just love fashion… I really do love it,” Ms Beazley said.
“I’d never been to the races (before last year) – ever – and I thought ‘If you’re going to get dressed up, may as well go all out’.”
Runner-up Aruna Morrissey wore a creation Ms Jackman said she was “quite precious about” – it won the Hat Blocks Australia competition earlier this year.
Local Lady of the Day was Taylor Snell, whose mother Chantell Rothwell made her hat and the sleeves of her top.
“I’m lucky to have such a clever mum,” Ms Snell said.
Third time was certainly a charm for Lady of the Day winner Emma Scodellaro.
The Greenvale resident won her third Bendigo Cup Lady of the Day sash – and her second in a row - with a monochrome dusty pink ensemble.
Ms Scodellaro said the Bendigo Cup was one of her favourite meets.
“Some of the city clubs need to come take a look at Bendigo,” she said.
For Man of the Day Michael McAlpine, claiming the sash was a tick off the bucket list.
Mr McAlpine, from Richmond, has been coming to Bendigo for eight years. He came third in his first year, but until yesterday had not claimed the title.
“The standard’s always very high – it’s always tough, it’s never a walk in the park,” he said.
“But lately, I’ve noticed the guys have stepped it up everywhere.”
Geelong’s Jacqueline Kibbis was named Elegant Lady of the Day in a suit she had made in Bali especially for the occasion and a hat she made herself.
She said Fashions on the Field was a good opportunity to catch up with women from other cities.
Trend-wise, bold colours – particularly pinks and reds – were big among the entrants.
Lilacs and lavenders were also popular choices, whether as the primary colour or just a splash.
Among the men, blues proved a hit with the judges, with both Man of the Day and the runner-up sporting blue ensembles.
But there was also a little sparkle among the men, with one entrant donning a metallic-threaded suit and another sporting a jacket and shoes of sequins.
