Schenck defeated Glenn Purdy 470-446 in one of the closest championships in decades.
Schenck led by over 100 early in the match before Purdy managed to take back the lead during the second half.
However, in the last five minutes of the match Schenck made a tense break of 53 to take the lead and went on to win by 24.
Schenck made breaks of 77, 53, 36, 35, 35, 31 and Purdy made 35, 35, 32.
In a sign of sportsmanship, Schenck said Purdy was the best player to have never won the championship.
