Aussie rock icon Adalita will headline the festival with the singer-songwriter closing out the performances on Saturday night.
The annual festival is now in its seventh year and will take over Kyneton’s iconic Piper Street on October 26 and 27 this year.
Launching the festival at the Bluestone Theatre on Friday, October 26, is psych-pop outfit Moonlover, ‘60s garage-pop group The Pink Tiles, raw rockers A.Swayze & the Ghosts and party band Mighty Duke & The Lords.
St Paul’s Park on Piper Street will host the main stage on Saturday, October 27, alongside popular music venue Major Tom’s with food trucks set to keep hungry music lovers happy.
Artists will perform from midday into the evening with James Ellis & The Jealous Guys, Amaya Laucirica, Broads and Harmony kicking off the day.
Emilee South – who has previously featured at the Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival – will bring her dynamic vocals and guitar playing to Kyneton alongside rock band TV Haze, Sydney outfit Rackett and Western Australia’s The Southern River Band.
Joining Adalita on stage on Saturday night will be rock trio Pony Face, beach-pop group Sonny and the Sunsets and RVG.
Last year’s Kyneton Music Festival sold out. The town is renowned for its creative community and the two-day event attracts a combination of regional and metropolitan music lovers to the region.
What’s On This Weekend
Festival director Rob Jones has previously said the event showcases the town as well as the music.
He co-founded the festival in 2011 after moving to the town and missing the live music scene in Melbourne.
"There are some amazing buildings (and venues). It isn't all about the music,” he said in 2015.
"It is about getting people to embrace Kyneton as well as the music."
Festival passes are available for $99 for a weekend pass or $75 for a Saturday only pass. Passes are on sale at www.kynetonmusicfestival.com.au.
