BENDIGO Football Netball League has moved down one spot in the AFL Victoria Community Championships rankings following the weekend’s round of inter-league matches.
The BFNL lost 11.16 (82) to 10.13 (73) against Hampden, which has moved up one spot from ninth to eighth.
That nine-point loss in Warrnambool has caused the BFNL to slip from 10th to 11th in the rankings.
The BFNL had initially been ranked 11th after last year’s championships, but moved up a spot following the Essendon District Football League’s withdrawal from inter-league action.
Heathcote District has moved down one spot to 21 following its loss to Geelong District, North Central also slips down a spot to 23 following a nine-point loss to Southern, while Loddon Valley has climbed above Kyabram District and Golden Rivers to be 30th, after ending a two-year absence from inter-league ranks with a win against Golden Rivers at the QEO.
All 32 teams, which participated in matches on the weekend, have been allocated a ranking.
Eastern Football League has secured the number-one ranking after defeating former title holders Geelong Football Netball League by 42-points at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
The loss sees Geelong drop to third place, with Northern Football Netball League rising to second position following a 40-point win over Mornington Peninsula Nepean, which drops to fifth.
Ovens and Murray is now ranked fourth, with Goulburn Valley, Western Region, Hampden, Ballarat and South East rounding out the top 10.
AFL Victoria has reiterated that the 2019 rankings list does not provide a likely schedule of matches for 2019, with leagues given the opportunity to opt-in or withdraw from the competition each season.
