Bendigo’s Tayla Vlaeminck is a chance to make her Women’s National Cricket League debut on Friday.
The Melbourne Renegades all-rounder has been named in the VicSpirit squad of 13 for Friday’s day-night game against the ACT in Canberra and Sunday’s clash with New South Wales in Sydney.
Vlaeminck is one of five uncapped players in the squad.
VicSpirit coach David Hemp is excited by the young squad named and the possibilities the new season could bring.
“It’s exciting to finally be beginning this season with the new squad we’ve got together, which is full of young talent with great potential,” Hemp said.
“The young group will be led by experienced heads in Kristen and Molly Strano, who have worked really well together in their new roles in the build-up to round one.
“It’s been a long, hard pre-season, and the girls have been patiently waiting for this weekend. Hopefully their hard work will be rewarded and we can get our season off to a good start with some strong performances.”
