BENDIGO Spirit coach Simon Pritchard has played a hand in the Emerging Opals’ gold medal win at the World University Games.
Pritchard was an assistant coach of the team, which defeated Japan 85-76 in the gold medal game.
It followed earlier finals wins over the United States and Chinese Taipei.
The Emerging Opals team comprised a group of under-23 players and lost just one game during the tournament against Russia.
