FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire at Eaglehawk tip on Upper California Gully Road about 10.30pm Saturday.
Bendigo senior station officer Tim Bruechert said it took four fire trucks and about 12 firefighters an hour to get the blaze under control.
"Council workers then took control and excavated the site to make sure there were no parts still smouldering," he said.
Police said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
