7PM: A CFA spokesperson said the fire is now out and confirmed the vehicle that caught fire was carrying hay.
"It was a hay transporter that caught fire.
"The hay caught fire and then set fire to the roadside.
"There were two separate fires which burnt 10 hectares and one hectare.
"The fire is now out."
6PM: A CFA spokesperson said units were still on scene making sure the area was safe but the fire was under control.
"We have stopped the spread and the fire is under control.
"Teams are still on site making sure the area is safe.
"We do not have exact confirmation at the moment but the fire was no more than 10 hectares."
4.40PM: Ambulance Victoria spokesperson John Mullen said an ambulance was called to the fire but no-one needed to be taken to hospital.
"The initial call said two people suffered minor burns.
"There was also a suggestion that a couple were overcome with smoke inhalation.
"But they have been assessed and no-one needs transporting."
4.15PM: A CFA spokesperson said the fire is now "controlled"
20 appliances are still on scene.
3.55PM: A CFA spokesperson has confirmed it was a truck fire that has sparked a grass fire.
"We got the call at 3.06pm," he said.
"It is a small fire near a junction on Trentham Road in Kyneton.
"It was a truck fire that sparked a grass fire."
EARLIER: 16 CFA units are attending to a fire in Kyneton, west of Springhill Road.
The fire is listed as "going" near a junction on Trentham Road.
Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.
