Seven trucks from Marong, Bridgewater, Tarnagulla, Inglewood and Wedderburn were called to the distillery after a member of the public reported a plume of black smoke in the area around 11am.
An electrical fault is believed to have started the blaze at the Kingower-Arnold Road plant.
A Country Fire Authority spokeswoman said crews had to wait at the scene for a 100 metre pile of eucalyptus mulch to extinguish itself given its flammable nature.
District 20 Operations Manager John Cutting said the small factory, which makes eucalyptus oil, received significant damage from the fire.
Crews have also controlled a paddock fire which destroyed 100 acres five kilometres north of Charlton around 11.30am.
Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
