The Danish Royal Household has officially revealed new titles for Princess Mary and Prince Frederik when they assume the throne.

A statement from the palace confirmed title changes will also affect the couple's oldest son Prince Christian.
"On Sunday, 14 January 2024, HRH The Crown Prince assumes the Danish throne as HM King Frederik the 10th," a spokesperson said.
"At the same time, HRH The Crown Princess will be known as HM Queen Mary."
The royal couple will officially bear the title King and Queen of Denmark in the light of Queen Margrethe's shock abdication following a 52-year reign.
"HRH Prince Christian becomes the heir to the throne and will henceforth be referred to as HRH Crown Prince Christian," a spokesperson confirmed.
The Australian-born Princess Mary visited her homeland ahead of the Christmas holidays in 2023 with her two youngest children, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
The Danish Palace also confirmed the long-reigning monarch would retain her title after stepping down, a departure from other royals around the world.
Many outgoing rulers adopt a slight title change to avoid confusion.
Following his 2014 abdication, Spanish King Juan Carlos I has often been styled rey emérito, meaning King Emeritus.
"After the change of throne, HM the Queen will continue to be majesty and bear the title HM Queen Margrethe," a spokesperson confirmed.
The reigning Queen ascended to the throne in 1972 aged 31, following the shock death of her father King Frederik IX.
Princess Mary, born Mary Donaldson, famously met Crown Prince Frederik during the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
A second statement from the Danish Palace revealed a shake up in the royal household ahead of the accession of the new King and Queen.
The Crown Prince and Princess' current chief of the court Christian Schnau will assume the position of Lord Chamberlain of the Royal House from January 14.
A new master of ceremonies has also been appointed.
