The development was granted major project status in 2022 based on plans to restart three sites about 100 kilometres southeast of Darwin on the Arnhem Highway.
Primary Gold Ltd plans to recommence open-cut operations at the Rustlers Roost and Quest 29 mines as well as develop two new pits.
The third mine, Tom's Gully, will be an underground project.
The Territory government said once in operation the Mt Bundy project would create 300 full-time jobs for 10 years and produce more than 135,000 ounces of gold each year.
"The Mt Bundy gold project is great news for local jobs and mining near Darwin, creating hundreds of well-paying jobs for the next decade," Mining and Industry Minister Nicole Manison said.
"Gold is needed not just for jewellery and investments, but for the creation of electronics, high-tech health care and aerospace, and the Northern Territory has the supply the world needs."
