Bendigo Police Sergeant Matthew Ormston said the crash occurred when the grey station wagon pulled out of Phillis Street to turn right and head towards the city.

A white Mazda hatchback travelling southbound towards Big Hill then crashed into the grey station wagon, causing it to cross two more lanes of traffic and hit a small gum tree away from the road.
"There are no major injuries at this stage," he said. "One person was trapped for short period until SES extracted her from car.
"Given we are running operation Amity with the long weekend, it's unfortunate this has happened.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 8.45am.

EMERGENCY service crews have extracted a woman from a crashed vehicle in Kangaroo Flat, Bendigo.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said units first were called to the incident at 8.30am.
The spokesperson said paramedics were assessing four people for minor injuries.
It appears two cars have collided resulting in one leaving the road and hitting a small tree.
Traffic is being impacted on the Calder Highway, near Phillis Street, Kangaroo Flat.

Police, SES, Fire Rescue Victoria, CFA and Ambulance Victoria members are all on scene.
